Job summary

Orange County Head Start, Inc. in Anaheim, CA is seeking a Teacher Assistant EHS to support early childhood education and strengthen bonds with families. You will assist EHS teachers with planning, instruction, and documentation while ensuring a safe, engaging classroom.

The role requires enrollment in Head Start standards, a Child Development Associate permit or 12 ECE units with Infant/Toddler specialization, and ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.

Qualifications

• A Child Development Associate Teacher Permit or 12+ units of Early Childhood Education/Child Development with core courses and Infant/Toddler specialization.
• Some related experience in early childhood education or Head Start is preferred.
• Spanish or Vietnamese language ability may be beneficial for family engagement.
• Valid California Driver License and proof of insurance required.

Responsibilities

• Assist EHS Teachers to prepare, instruct, evaluate, and document progress of infants and toddlers.
• Support planning and implementing learning experiences aligned with Head Start Performance Standards.
• Maintain daily attendance, meal counts, and safety drills; assist with parent conferences.
• Communicate with parents and caregivers to set goals and share child progress.
• Assist in training parents and volunteers on classroom procedures and interactions.
