Job summary

CS Power Systems in Jeffersonville, Indiana seeks an EHS System & Audit Program Engineer to develop, manage and validate the plant’s EHS management systems, audits, and procedures. You will translate technical inputs into field procedures and support performance tracking with data analyses.

Responsibilities include implementing safety programs, leading audits, creating action plans, and collaborating with Operations and Maintenance to improve system efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or related field.
• 5–7 years in EHS systems with significant auditing experience.
• Strong understanding of EHS management systems and compliance.
• Excellent technical writing and document standardization skills.

This position will be responsible for developing and implementing safety management system and audit programs, while also supporting EHS performance tracking through structured data analysis and performance.Responsibilities:EHS System Management:Develop and implement a sound Safety Management System and EHS programs.Monitor and improve site-wide EHS document control system, including policies, programs, procedures, SOPs, manuals, and recordsEstablish and maintain centralized document repositories (e.g. SharePoint or DMS platforms)Translate technical inputs (engineering, operations, P&IDs) into usable field proceduresSupport implementation of structured PSM, ISO-aligned frameworks, internal standards.Partner with cross-functional teams (Operations and Maintenance) to ensure the effectiveness of programs and systems.Drive continuous improvement of document workflows and system efficiencyDevelop and maintain EHS data tracking systems and dashboardsAnalyze trends to support risk identification and performance improvement initiativesEnsure data consistency, accuracy, and traceabilitySupport development of training materials related to procedures and systemsAudit Programs and Readiness:Develop and manage the facility’s EHS audits and assessment programs.Plan, schedule, and lead EHS compliance auditsPrepare clear, concise audit reports indentifying gaps and operational risks, and develop corrective action plans.Work with site and functional leaders to develop and implement corrective and preventive action plans.Support regulatory inspections, customer audits and third party certifications.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or related field.5 – 7 years of experience in EHS systems, including significant experience conducting or managing EHS audits.Strong understanding of EHS management systems and compliance assurance.Strong technical writing and document standardization skillsPreferred Qualifications:Professional certification such as CSP, CIH, CHMM, or equivalentExperience with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systemsLead Auditor or Internal Auditor certificationExperience in manufacturing, chemical processing, energy, construction or other high-risk industrial environmentExperience implementing EHS audit software or compliance management systems.Working Conditions:Primarily industrial manufacturing facility environmentWill require wearing personal protective equipment (PPE).Hazardous materials environment.#CSPowerSystems
