Job summary

Petrochoice in Wichita, KS, is seeking an experienced HSEQ professional to lead and manage safety, health, and environmental programs within our operations. You will develop policies, conduct audits, investigate incidents, manage permits, and deliver training to employees and contractors.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of safety/environmental management experience, with strong OSHA/EPA knowledge and proficiency in safety software and MS Office. Lean experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in safety and/or environmental management roles.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory frameworks.
• Experience conducting audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with safety management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain safety and environmental policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulations.
• Conduct regular workplace inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and noncompliance.
• Investigate accidents, near-misses, and environmental incidents; determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Manage environmental permits, reporting, and regulatory filings (air, water, waste, hazardous materials).
• Design and deliver safety training programs for employees, contractors, and new hires.
• Coordinate with Training Manager to identify training needs and gaps.
• Participate in Safety and Quality Committees and develop guidelines and best practices.
• Track progress and generate monthly/quarterly safety and training reports for leadership.
• Lean experience preferred.
