Job summary

Dover Food Retail in Richmond, VA is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Specialist to promote a safety culture and ensure compliance with federal and state health & safety laws. This role supports the Safety Manager and coordinates programs across the Richmond operations.

Responsibilities include site audits, safety orientations, incident reviews, and leading Safety Committees, with a focus on continuous improvement and PPE compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental health and safety or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in an Environmental, Health and Safety role.
• Proficient in OSHA and EPA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Promote a safety culture and ensure compliance with health and safety laws.
• Audit sites for compliance with safety programs and processes.
• Lead accident and injury data analysis to identify program needs.
• Conduct periodic safety inspections and document results.
• Deliver safety orientations for employees and subcontractors.
• Provide technical resources for day-to-day operations and PPE compliance.
• Lead site audits to ensure program adherence and improvements.
• Evaluate hazards and near-misses and implement improvements.
• Deliver annual training and lead Safety/Improvement Committees.
