Job summary

Ventura Foods seeks an EHS Specialist to lead safety and environmental programs at our Birmingham, AL facility. You will coordinate OSH A and EPA/IEPA compliance, manage permits, and drive training and incident prevention across the site.

Responsibilities include maintaining logs, overseeing safety drills, and liaising with HR on claims. A CSP or equivalent certification plus a strong regulatory background are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in EHS or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• 5–10 years of Environmental Health & Safety experience in manufacturing.
• Experience with behavior-based safety programs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain OSHA compliance, safety training, and procedures.
• Manage environmental permits and SPCC/SWPPP plans.
• Lead safety programs, JSAs, and equipment safety.
• Maintain OSHA 300 logs and workers’ compensation coordination.
• Facilitate monthly safety meetings and safety committee activities.
