Job summary

Douglas Dynamics is seeking an EHS Specialist to develop and maintain safety initiatives across Henderson Products locations. You will lead ergonomic assessments, risk analyses, and regulatory compliance efforts while driving safety culture and training programs.

The role requires collaboration with HR and operations, overseeing environmental and safety programs, incident investigations, and ongoing documentation to support a safe, compliant workplace.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, environmental laws, and employee safety and health issues.
• Proficient with manufacturing software and Microsoft Office.
• Organizational, detail, and follow-up skills.
• Leadership to guide teams and achieve results.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and teamwork.
• Bachelor's Degree in related field; 3+ years in safety or related.

Responsibilities

• Implement safety and health standards per OSHA, EPA, NFPA and regs.
• Schedule and conduct safety training sessions.
• Onboard new hires with safety training.
• Document safety opportunities and trends.
• Lead safety incident investigations and root-cause analysis.
• Manage ergonomic programs and return-to-work initiatives.
• Train personnel on safety programs including hazard analysis.
• Coordinate with management to ensure risk management throughout operations.
• Perform Upfit location visits to ensure site compliance.
• Maintain EHS logs and documentation.
• Collaborate with HR on training records and workers' compensation issues.
• Prepare reports on accidents and incidents; assist in emergency response.
• Stay updated on regulatory changes; develop sustainability program.
