Job summary

Hach, part of the Veralto family, seeks an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist for our Ames, IA facility. You will partner with leadership to strengthen safety culture, manage day-to-day EHS compliance, training, reporting, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives that align with regulatory standards.

You will oversee environmental, health, and safety programs in a chemical manufacturing setting, lead incident investigations, coordinate ISO certifications, and drive improvements

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Sustainability, or related field; 3+ years EHS experience in manufacturing.
• Training in RCRA Hazardous Waste Management or equivalent.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort using digital tools and EHS management systems.
• Ability to work onsite in Ames, IA, and to travel 1–2 times per year.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary EHS contact for the Ames site and support the EHS Manager.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, IDNR and ISO standards; environmental reporting.
• Conduct job safety analyses, investigate incidents, implement corrective actions, support workers' comp.
