Job summary

Avancez Assembly in Hazel Park, MI seeks an EHS Specialist to manage environmental, health, and safety activities and provide technical guidance to improve workplace safety and ensure regulatory compliance.

You will coordinate safety training, lead the Safety Team, conduct audits, oversee emergency drills, and handle environmental reporting, waste management, and pollution prevention in an automotive manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Able to understand Environmental and Safety standards.
• Good communication skills including writing and speaking.

• Strong organizational and administrative skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate environmental, health, and safety activities through leadership and communication.
• Coordinate and provide EHS training for team members.
• Conduct new hire orientation and EHS training.
• Investigate injuries/illnesses and assist in developing countermeasures.
• Ensure compliance with Federal, state and local regulations.
• Lead Safety Team and coordinate activities and accountability.
• Conduct routine safety observations and follow-up.
• Coordinate emergency evacuation procedures and drills.
• Coordinate chemical awareness training and monitor on a continuous basis.
• Manage environmental reporting for air, land, water, and hazardous waste; oversee pollution prevention and hazardous waste programs; coordinate recycling.
