Job summary

JM Family Enterprises is seeking an Environmental, Health, and Safety Specialist to execute EHS programs at the Jacksonville/VPO site. Responsibilities include inspections, incident investigations, regulatory compliance, data analysis, and training development to support safe, compliant operations.

The role partners with operations leaders to identify risks and drive continuous improvement, maintains records and dashboards, and ensures environmental responsibilities are met at the Blount Island

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field (Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering)
• 1–5 years of work experience or internship in EHS, compliance, or related areas
• Knowledge of OSHA standards and environmental compliance requirements
• Experience conducting inspections, investigations, and corrective-action follow-ups
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
• Valid driver's license and ability to obtain TSA/ TWIC credentials for access to Blount Island facility
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Conduct environmental, health, and safety inspections, assessments, and field observations
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and workplace hazards and assist root-cause analyses
• Manage corrective action follow-up and closure of findings
• Support EHS programs, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
• Collect, analyze, and maintain EHS performance data and metrics
• Maintain EHS records, reports, dashboards, and compliance documentation
• Develop and deliver EHS training and coordinate scheduling/tracking
• Coordinate vendor services and contractor support as needed
• Support environmental compliance activities including inspections, permits, waste management, and reporting
• Coordinate safety communications and signage to engage associates
• Assist with ergonomic assessments and risk-reduction recommendations
• Provide day-to-day program support to operations leaders and associates
• Promote proactive safety culture and continuous improvement
