Job summary

IEM is seeking an EHS Specialist in San Antonio, TX to support and advance environmental, health, and safety programs within a manufacturing environment. You will ensure OSHA compliance and partner with operations to drive safety improvements.

The role requires strong regulatory knowledge, analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced setting. Occasional travel is possible and the position is in-office with no remote work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field preferred.
• 3–7 years of EHS experience, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, hazard analysis, incident investigation, and safety program implementation.
• Experience with safety management systems, regulatory compliance, and EHS training programs preferred.
• Professional certifications such as ASP, CSP, CHST, or equivalent are a plus.
• Demonstrated career ambition with a track record of growth and increasing responsibility; highly promotable with the potential to take on broader leadership roles within a fast-paced, high-growth organization

Responsibilities

• Support development, implementation, and continuous improvement of facility EHS programs and initiatives.
• Conduct routine and compliance-driven safety inspections including cranes, eyewash/showers, forklifts, and other regulated equipment.
• Lead or support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
• Perform Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), risk assessments, and PPE hazard assessments for new equipment and processes.
• Develop and deliver EHS training programs, including new hire orientation and regulatory training.
• Maintain and update facility emergency response plans, evacuation maps, and emergency preparedness programs.
• Manage chemical inventory system and SDS database, ensuring compliance with GHS standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify safety risks and implement controls.
• Support regulatory compliance activities including OSHA requirements and environmental reporting.
• Analyze safety metrics and incident trends to identify improvement opportunities.
• Assist with internal and external EHS audits and corrective actions.
• Promote a strong safety culture through employee engagement and leadership support.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support the team.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field preferred.
