Job summary

FIXX Energy is seeking an EHS Specialist to provide environmental, health, and safety support at our Smyrna, Tennessee production site. You will ensure regulatory compliance, maintain safety programs, and lead training initiatives across the plant and corporate staff.

You will develop, implement and maintain ISO 14001/45001 certifications, manage PTW/JHA processes, and coordinate with operations, maintenance, engineering and quality teams to minimize risks and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety science, engineering or industrial engineering preferred.
• 2–5 years of experience in safety, health, and environmental operations in a manufacturing setting.
• Extensive knowledge of State and Federal safety standards; working knowledge of manufacturing processes.
• Able to work cross-functionally with Operations, Maintenance, Logistics, Engineering and Quality.
• Life Safety Design – familiar with IBC/IFC/NFPA101.
• RCRA – hazardous waste compliance for LQGs and waste tank management.
• EPCRA – reporting requirements for industrial facilities.
• ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 familiarity.
• ASP or equivalent; Chemical Management or chemistry background recommended.

Responsibilities

• Provides EHS support to plant personnel to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Prepares and updates safety, health, and environmental programs and policies and generates metrics.
• PTW expert supporting JHA/JSA, risk assessments, PPE matrix, and permit audits.
• Promotes environmental, safety, and health awareness through trainings and communications.
• Supports engineering controls to minimize hazards.
• Ensures compliance with environmental regulations (solid waste, air, water, reporting).
• Reviews incident reports, identifies trends, and supports corrective actions.
• Submits SDS electronically to support regulatory compliance.
