Job summary

Environmental Resources Management (ERM) is hiring a Senior Health and Safety (EHS) Consultant to support our key technology client onsite in Redmond, Washington. This full-time role has a minimum duration of 4 months and is extendable.

The ideal candidate brings broad safety experience, especially in Tech R&D or manufacturing environments, with knowledge of OSHA, hazard recognition, risk assessment, and incident investigation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 7–15 years EHS experience, health and safety focused
  • CIH/CSP/ASP certification a plus but not required
  • Strong regulatory compliance knowledge and reporting skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication and organizational skills
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Responsibilities

  • Independently conduct risk assessments for new equipment and labs.
  • Provide weekly activity reports to EHS Managers and Senior Specialists.
  • Support and attend Safety Committee Meetings and Safety Walks monthly or as needed.
  • Support Emergency Action Plan and drills as scheduled.
  • Perform compliance and system audits to assess project compliance with health, safety or environmental regulations and client standards.
  • Assist with near-miss/incident investigations.
  • Assist with direct-reading instrument calibrations and maintenance.
  • Be responsible for EHS at assigned labs and advocate workers’ safety needs.
  • Escalate issues and provide improvement ideas to Site Sr EHS Specialist weekly.
  • Support clients’ safety improvement by training, field coaching, and EHS assessments.
  • Develop EHS compliance procedures, plans, permits, and reports.
  • Support ERM Partners and Project Managers to deliver projects.
  • Build strong collaborative relationships with ERM employees.

Job description

ERM is hiring a Senior Health and Safety (EHS) Consultant to support our key technology client onsite in Redmond Washington. This is a full-time role with a minimum duration of 4 months, extendable. The ideal candidate will have general safety experience, preferably in manufacturing or high-tech R and D environments – knowledge of OSHA requirements, strong hazard recognition skills, Job Hazard Analysis, Emergency Response Plans, Risk Assessment processes, Incident response and investigation, Machine Guarding, Chemical Safety and Electrical Safety/LOTO.

Responsibilities
  • Independently conduct risk assessments for new equipment and labs.
  • Provide weekly activity reports to EHS Managers and Senior Specialists.

  • Support ERM Partners and Project Managers to effectively manage and deliver projects.
  • Build strong collaborative relationships with other ERM employees.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
  • 7 to 15 years of experience providing EHS support with an emphasis on health and safety, particularly in Tech R and D settings.
  • The quality of the experience, however is most important.
  • Existing certification or working towards certification as Certified Industrial Hygiene (CIH) and/or Certified Safety Professional (CSP/ASP) certification a plus but not required.
  • Demonstrated understanding of regulatory compliance and reporting processes.
  • Effective written/verbal communication and organization/analytical skills; experience recording/writing detailed technical data and reports a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
Pay and Benefits

For the Senior Health and Safety (EHS) Consultant position, we anticipate the annual base pay of $103,800 - $130,900, 49.90/hr $62.93/hr USD/CAD, limited-term, non-exempt.

This job may be eligible for bonus pay (casual and fixed term/Flexforce employees are NOT bonus eligible).
