Job summary

Arvato is seeking a Q-HSE Specialist to promote a positive safety culture and ensure OSHA/compliance across our Las Vegas Fulfillment site. You will inspect environments, train associates, conduct audits, and maintain safety documentation while supporting DG handling and regulatory requirements.

The role involves risk assessments, data tracking, and collaboration with the Corporate DG Team to implement DG protocols in line with DOT, IATA DGR, IMDG Code, and ICAO standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required.
  • 1-2+ years’ experience with EHS, DG or Quality preferred.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations, specifically 29 CFR 191, ISO 9001.
  • QHSE knowledge required.
  • Ability to analyze data, processes and machinery for safety/environmental concerns.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, analysis and judgment skills.
  • Excellent Excel, Word, PPT and Outlook skills.
  • Ability to manage high volume email correspondence.

Responsibilities

Job Description

The Q-HSE (Quality, Health, and Safety Environment) Specialist will be responsible for promoting a positive safety culture, ensuring compliance with corporate safety standards, and maintaining a safe working environment. They will inspect and evaluate the environment, equipment, and processes in working areas to ensure compliance with government safety regulations, OSHA, and industry standards. The Q-HSE Specialist will also conduct training and coaching for associates on observed work habits; perform safety observations & audits; train and assist others in completing their safety responsibilities (Audits, Following Safety Rules, etc.); and provide specific safety training as required by the Compliance Manager / Quality Manager & Supervisor.

Using your EHS background and knowledge you will conduct trainings and coaching associates on observed work habits, maintain accurate daily, weekly, and monthly metrics to report to onsite management teams, conduct risk assessments related to jobs performed (Job Hazard Analysis) and new equipment introductions, identify and inform management of compliance issues, safety risks, and improvement opportunities through the conduct of daily, weekly, and monthly audits. By completing these responsibilities, you'll facilitate the incident investigation process and maintain the required documentation to comply with Arvato and OSHA regulations.

YOUR TASKS

In collaboration with the Operations team at the Las Vegas Fulfillment site, you will implement company policies to ensure compliance with all relevant local, regional, and international regulations regarding Dangerous Goods. Your responsibilities include ensuring compliance with DOT, IATA DGR, IMDG Code, and ICAO regulations for the packing, labeling, and marking of all DG shipments from the facility. You will also ensure that all Dangerous Goods Shippers' Declarations are accurately completed and maintained, in line with U.S., international, and carrier regulations.

As a prerequisite, you must complete the DOT and IATA certification training provided by Arvato. Additionally, you will work closely with the Corporate DG Team to ensure proper storage and handling of dangerous goods and to understand the warehouse system's decisions on the implementation of dangerous goods protocols.

Quality Overall Responsibilities
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS) by integrating local and international standards into Arvato business processes.
  • Provide guidance and share QMS-related knowledge with internal stakeholders.
  • Assist in managing internal and external audits, including preparation, participation, reporting, and tracking of audit findings in coordination with the Quality Supervisor/Manager.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including LEAN projects (5S, process optimization, etc.), and support KPI and objective tracking to ensure performance targets are met.
  • Support process and risk management activities across the organization, including risk assessments and process evaluations. Monitor CAPAs and claims, provide regular status updates, and participate in Root Cause Analysis activities when required. Oversee quality control activities, including calibration monitoring and Q-HSE-related inspections, ensuring compliance with established standards.
