Job summary

Associated Milk Producers Inc. is seeking a safety-focused professional to lead Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) initiatives across our Midwest manufacturing facilities in Wisconsin.

The role emphasizes training, compliance, and continuous improvement in safety programs and food quality practices. The candidate will coordinate with plant leadership to enforce safety policies, conduct inspections, and monitor environmental parameters such as noise and air quality, while maintaining records

Qualifications

  • This position requires managing Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) programs.

Responsibilities

  • Report safety, food safety and quality issues to authorities.
  • Heightened food safety and quality responsibilities in this role.
  • Direct support to Environmental, Health and Safety at the facility; train and enforce safety programs and initiatives.
  • Administer continuous OSHA-compliant training programs and develop safe behaviors.
  • Manage industrial hygiene programs including medical testing, fit testing, and contaminant monitoring.
  • Inspect and manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste; maintain disposal records.
  • Record site EHS monitoring data (noise, CO, heat exposure, storm water samples).
  • Apply the company drug and alcohol testing program in compliance with laws.
  • Schedule and conduct EHS compliance inspections; document and track corrective actions.
  • Utilize safety knowledge to manage programs like Life Safety Code, Forklift Ops, PPE, Hazard Communication.
  • Promote safety and occupational health awareness via internal communications and training.
  • Support maintenance and quality assurance to implement engineering controls and food safety.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Description Detailed Description AMPI owns six Midwest-based manufacturing plants where 10 percent of the nation's American-type cheese and processed cheese is produced. The cooperative's award-winning cheese and powdered dairy products are marketed to foodservice, retail and food ingredient customers. In 2019, the co-op launched its Dinner Bell Creamery brand and accompanying Co-op Crafted promise, highlighting more than 50 years of dairy farm families.

list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time:

  • 1. All AMPI employees have an obligation to report employee safety, food safety and food quality issues to personnel of authority.
  • 2. This position has a heightened food safety and food quality responsibilities.
  • 3. Directly support Environmental, Health and Safety at facility by training and enforcing safety programs and policies and initiatives.
  • 4. Administer continuous training programs that comply with OSHA regulations and develop safe work behaviors.
  • 5. Manage industrial hygiene programs including medical testing, physicals, respiratory testing, fit testing; and conducts monitoring of contaminants as required by respective standards.
  • 6. Manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste inspections, identification, containerization, consolidation, labeling, accumulation and shipment for disposal and maintain records of such.
  • 7. Collect, document and record site EHS monitoring including, but not limited to, area noise measurements, carbon monoxide, heat exposure, and storm water samples.
  • 8. Apply the Company drug and alcohol testing program, complying with federal and state laws.
  • 9. Schedule and conduct site EHS compliance inspections, perform records documentation and provide corrective action response recommendations and tracking.

Use a working knowledge of personal, industrial & occupational safety to manage safety programs such as Life Safety Code, Forklift Operations, Hoist & Crane Operations, Lifting Equipment, Job Safety Analysis, Blood borne Pathogen Exposure Control, Respiratory Protection, PPE Program, Hazard Communication and
