Join the EHS Specialist Role at Amazon

Amazon is seeking a dedicated EHS Specialist to support workplace health and safety initiatives. This full-time role involves coordinating all aspects of the Amazon Global Program within your assigned building, promoting a positive safety culture, and ensuring compliance with company standards and legal requirements.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate safety metrics and report to management and corporate systems
• Support compliance with all safety programs and legal regulations
• Conduct risk assessments, including Job Hazard Analysis and new equipment evaluations
• Recommend risk mitigation measures, including ergonomics improvements
• Work flexible shifts including days, nights, and weekends

Note: Candidates without current First Aid, CPR, AED certification must obtain it within 3 weeks of starting.

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations, specifically 29 CFR 1910
• At least 1 year in an EHS-related field, a relevant bachelor’s degree, or 6 months of Amazon safety experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Ability to handle confidential information appropriately

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in workers' compensation case management
• Higher education in a safety-related field
• Strong communication, teamwork, analysis, and customer focus skills
• Leadership experience and ability to analyze safety data and conduct safety analyses
• Current First Aid and CPR certifications and emergency response experience
