The NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) seeks an Associate Public Health Sanitarian I for the Drinking Water Operations unit in Carmel, NY. You will act as Site Safety Officer, directing programs to enforce health codes and OSHA regulations while planning surveys and special projects.

Responsibilities include providing technical guidance on EHS compliance, conducting inspections, and coordinating with facility personnel on RMP/PSM activities.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate or equivalent with required science credits and inspection experience.
• Alternate degree paths acceptable with sufficient inspections background.
• Equivalent education/experience satisfying NY requirements for a sanitarian.
• 2 years of public health sanitarian experience for promotion eligibility.

Responsabilités

• Serve as Site Safety Officer and enforce Health Code and OSHA rules.
• Provide guidance to staff on health and safety compliance and training.
• Conduct in-service training and inspections guidance.
• Perform difficult health and safety investigations to verify compliance.
• Inspect construction for environmental condition conformance.
• Coordinate with facilities on RMP/PSM and CMMS records.

Baccalaureate degree in physical/biological sciences with 30 credits and 2 years inspections experience

Associate degree with 15 science credits and 4 years inspections experience
