Job summary

MEI Rigging & Crating is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Site Manager to promote accident- and injury-free safety initiatives across a regional office. You will minimize risk, coordinate trainings, and investigate incidents.

You will develop and maintain EHS programs, conduct audits, manage incident investigations, and ensure regulatory compliance. This role requires strong communication, teamwork, and the ability to influence safety culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in occupational safety, industrial relations, construction management, or related field.
• Five (5) years’ verifiable EH & S experience in management or progressive roles.
• Knowledge of OSHA, workers comp, and site-specific safety guidelines; ability to advise others.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).
• Self-directed with good time management and urgency in safety tasks.
• MS Office proficiency; Excel or similar software experience.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish helpful but not required.
• Critical thinking and sound judgment in decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains EHS policies, guidelines, and programs.
• Supports OSHA training and site-specific safety trainings.
• Provides design-in-safety, risk assessment, job safety analysis, investigations, and EHS systems development.
• Coordinates incident investigations and root cause analysis with IRB and site management.
• Manages SIPPS, hot-work permits, confined space, SDS, and safety regs.
• Conducts routine site audits of equipment, practices, and procedures.
• Develops safety work instructions and JHA documentation.
• Approves Pre-task Plans and JHA reviews daily.
• Ensures compliance with government regulations and industry standards.
• Manages injury claims processes with Workers' Comp and medical providers.
• Maintains records: meetings, OSHA logs, IRB reports, audits.
• Addresses safety violations promptly.
• Provides ongoing safety training and certifications.
• Promotes reduction of injuries and financial losses.
• Educates team on accident-prevention and loss-control systems.
• Maintains relationships with vendors, OSHA, emergency services.
• Acts as coach/mentor for department roles.
