Job summary

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems is seeking an EHS Specialist II to support Rock Hill Operations in Florida. The role focuses on educating staff on health, safety, and environmental practices while ensuring regulatory compliance and effective incident documentation.

The position requires an Associate's Degree with 2–4 years' experience (or equivalent) and strong proficiency in Microsoft Office for reporting and training materials.

Qualifications

• Required education and experience: Associate's Degree and 2-4 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience.
• Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Outlines and implements policies or programs to educate and promote employee health and safety or environmental compliance.
• Delivers training programs educating staff on environmental concerns or health and safety risks found in the organization.
• Communicates regularly with management and administration regarding the status of environmental initiatives.
• Ensures that training records, health/safety manuals or handbooks, incident/accident reports, or other documentation are appropriately maintained.
• Tracks and documents accidents to understand causes and recommend changes to prevent future accidents.
• Monitors known health, safety, or environmental hazards, such as noise, air, or wastewater pollution levels.
• Coordinates inspection of facilities, vehicles, or equipment and processes recommending corrections or additional precautions to ensure compliance to established regulations.
• Communicates facility-specific emergency response or evacuation plans.
• Has a broad and current knowledge of all government and applicable industry safety regulations.
