Job summary

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (OTS) is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety professional to design, implement and oversee our EH&S programs across facilities. You will ensure compliance with EPA and OSHA standards and manage ISO management systems while leading training on critical safety procedures.

The role includes conducting inspections, investigating incidents, managing high-hazard operations, and coordinating environmental permitting as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree with 2–4 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Outlines and implements policies or programs to educate and promote employee health and safety or environmental compliance.
• Delivers training programs educating staff on environmental concerns or health and safety risks found in the organization.
• Communicates regularly with management and administration regarding the status of environmental initiatives.
• Ensures that training records, health/safety manuals or handbooks, incident/accident reports, or other documentation are appropriately maintained.
• Tracks and documents accidents to understand causes and recommend changes to prevent future accidents.
• Monitors known health, safety, or environmental hazards, such as noise, air, or wastewater pollution levels.
• Coordinates inspection of facilities, vehicles, or equipment and processes recommending corrections or additional precautions to ensure compliance to established regulations.
• Communicates facility-specific emergency response or evacuation plans.
• Has a broad and current knowledge of all government and applicable industry safety regulations.
