Job Summary

The EHS Manager is responsible for fostering a safety culture and managing a behavior-based safety system within Commissary Group facilities. This role involves developing, implementing, and overseeing a comprehensive safety program across multiple fresh food manufacturing sites, ensuring compliance with regulations, promoting safety, and minimizing incidents. The manager will also build and lead a high-performing safety team and ensure thorough safety assessments.

Key Responsibilities

1. Safety Program Development and Oversight
   • Design, implement, and improve safety programs, policies, and procedures.
   • Standardize safety protocols across locations.
   • Conduct risk assessments and safety audits.
2. Leadership and Team Building
   • Recruit, train, and mentor safety professionals.
   • Establish performance metrics for safety teams.
3. Regulatory Compliance and Reporting
   • Ensure compliance with OSHA, FDA, USDA, and other regulations.
   • Lead incident investigations and develop prevention strategies.
   • Report safety data to leadership.
4. Training and Employee Engagement
   • Develop safety training programs.
   • Engage employees to promote safety culture.
   • Coordinate safety meetings and initiatives.
5. Emergency Preparedness
   • Develop emergency response plans.
   • Conduct drills and training.
