Job summary

Food Management Search, Inc. is seeking an EH&S Engineer to join a plastics manufacturer in Orange County. You will support regulatory compliance, safety programs, and environmental initiatives, reporting to the EH&S Director.

The plant operates with PSM-like rigor and cGMP controls while maintaining a focus on safety and environmental compliance. You will lead lockout/tagout, safety training, SOP development, and document management across EH&S platforms, while collaborating with operations to

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering in a field related to EH&S.
• 3+ years of manufacturing experience, ideally in chemicals or materials.
• 40-hour HAZWOPER certification ideal (24-hour acceptable).
• Open to someone who has been an EH&S Engineer or a process engineer expanding their skillset.
• Train the Trainer certified in LOTO/Confined Space/Fall protection, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Ensure lockout/tagout procedures are current and implemented.
• Perform monthly EH&S related training.
• Carry out periodic EH&S inspections.
• Participate in weekend safety meetings and safety committee activities.
• Write EH&S related SOPs.
• Be a member of the 24-hour HAZWOPER team.
• Manage administrative duties with internal EH&S software systems.
• Assist in permit-required environmental activities (wastewater, storm water, air quality, etc).
