Job summary

Richelieu Foods, Inc. in Wheeling, IL is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Manager to lead plant safety initiatives at our Wheeling facility.

You will guide the safety management program, conduct risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations while partnering with the plant leadership team. The role requires a Bachelor's in EH&S, 5–7 years of safety leadership, strong knowledge of OSHA standards (PSM, LOTO, hot work, confined space), and advanced MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental health & safety or related field.
• 5-7 years of progressive safety leadership experience.
• Extensive knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety management principles, including Combustible Dust, PSM, LOTO, Hot Work, Permit Required Confined Space Entry, PIT, and MEWPs.
• Proficient in risk assessment and root cause analysis methods.
• Advanced Microsoft Office knowledge; advanced in Excel.

Responsibilities

• Influence behavior and inspire commitment to safety standards.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental programs and regulations.
• Oversee incident investigations and maintain safety metrics.
• Develop, conduct, and assess safety training programs.
• Collaborate with site safety leaders to implement policies and objectives.
• Monitor waste management and environmental compliance; prepare reports.
