Job summary

Solventum, based in Monrovia, CA, seeks an Environmental Health & Safety Manager to lead the EHS function for the site. The role focuses on directing safety leadership, risk reduction, and regulatory compliance across manufacturing operations.

You will drive strategic EHS priorities, manage the EHS program, and mentor team members to ensure robust safety performance and a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher and seven (7) years of experience in Environmental Health, Safety, Engineering, and/or Manufacturing OR High School Diploma/GED and eleven (11) years of experience in Environmental Health, Safety, Engineering, and/or Manufacturing.
• Three (3) years of experience in a supervisory role.
• Master's degree or higher in Environmental Health and Safety, Engineering, Science, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
• Ten (10) years of Environmental Health and Safety experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Experience leading an EHS function or team with responsibility for risk reduction, regulatory compliance, and EHS program implementation.
• Experience developing, implementing, and sustaining EHS programs, policies, and procedures across manufacturing or production operations.
• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Quality Improvement certification, or equivalent continuous improvement certification.
• Experience leading change management initiatives related to EHS programs, regulatory requirements, operational improvements, or organizational transformation.
• Experience communicating EHS requirements, compliance obligations, and program objectives to leaders, employees, regulators, and other stakeholders.
• Experience with state and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and related regulatory agencies.
• Professional EHS certification such as CSP, CIH, CHMM, or similar credential.

Responsibilities

• Providing environment, health and safety leadership and direction, in consultation with the leadership team at the Monrovia, CA site and Corporate EHS Team.
• Setting short and long-term strategic direction, site EHS priorities and assigning resources.
• Managing the maintenance of, and improvements in the site’s implementation of Solventum EHS Management System and Facility EHS program plans.
• Managing risk and protecting the company’s employees, assets, and intellectual property; ensuring compliance to all applicable standards and regulations and conformance to all Solventum EHS expectations.
• Supporting and communicating with site management, who have accountability for site EHS performance.
• Elevating site EHS culture through an expansion of standard work, employee engagement, mentoring and coaching, assuring effective and efficient resources and a pervasive full compliance mindset.
• Ensuring strong alignment of department goals, metrics and targets with the plant vision and targets; managing to site performance targets, coaching and leading salaried and hourly employees.
• Interacting with internal auditors and regulatory agencies and serving as liaison between Solventum and governmental agencies to obtain the necessary permit related to health/safety/environment for the plant operation.
• Developing and maintaining the technical competency for the Team and provides leadership, coaching and direction to direct reports.
• Keep up to date with applicable regulations.
