Job summary

Smurfit WestRock is seeking an EHS Manager to lead safety and environmental excellence across our Winston-Salem site. You will drive regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement of EHS programs while partnering with leaders to foster a safe, responsible culture.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in safety or related field and at least two years of industrial EHS experience, with strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in safety, environmental science, engineering, or equivalent.
• Minimum of two years' experience managing EHS in an industrial setting.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to coach, engage others to speak up and comply with EHS policies.
• Extensive knowledge of OSHA, EPA, local/state environmental regulations, ANSI, and NFPA.
• Proven track record of critical thinking and problem-solving.
• Ability to make quick decisions under stress.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety and environmental culture with teams and leaders.
• Implement Environmental and Safety Excellence programs.
• Conduct investigations of EHS incidents using performance approaches.
• Develop site safety and environmental training plans.
• Coordinate site inspections and risk assessments.
• Communicate with OSHA and state/local agencies.
• Track and report EHS KPIs and action plans.
