Somic America, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Manager (EHS) to ensure OSHA and EPA compliance and to safeguard all company locations. The role involves training, incident investigation, hazard control, and environmental program leadership across sites.

The EHS Manager will serve as a subject matter expert on safety, regulatory, and insurance requirements, supporting audits, safety committees, and incident responses while promoting a safe and compliant manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety or related field required.
• Minimum 5 years of safety management experience desired.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA regulations and safety programs.
• Experience with ISO 14001 implementation and audits.

Responsibilities

• Serve on corporate and division safety committees; provide updates and training on safety matters.
• Provide subject matter expertise in manufacturing process safety and regulatory compliance.
• Inspect facilities/work sites/equipment for hazards and direct corrective actions.
• Develop and deliver effective safety training programs for managers and employees.
• Investigate accidents to determine root causes and implement preventive measures.
• Maintain and audit MSDS library and safety records.

This position is responsible for ensuring that Somic America, Inc. is in compliance with all agencies (OSHA and EPA) regulations, training, and any other requirements by such agencies, our insurance companies, and company requirements.The EHS Manager will serve as a subject matter expert on all safety, compliance, regulatory and related insurance requirements.What You'll DoServe on corporate and division safety committees; review and discuss safety needs, provide updates, training, DOT, Hazmat, OSHA and related safety and compliance information.Provide subject matter expertise in manufacturing process safety ensuring industry best practice.Provide assistance to ensure compliance with safety and environmental requirements this may include but is not limited to administering industrial hygiene tests, coordinating repairs and upgrades or similar tasks as assigned.Site inspections and corrective action(s): 1. Train and direct management to inspect facilities, work sites and equipment for violations and hazards. 2. Provide direction to management on correcting identified problems in a timely manner. 3. Follow up to make sure all corrective actions were taken and completed. 4.
