Job summary

Crane Payment Innovations (CPI) seeks an Environmental Health and Safety Manager to lead our site EHS strategy, align programs with regulatory standards, and promote a proactive safety culture.

The role partners with operations, engineering, quality, and maintenance to integrate EHS into continuous improvement and capital projects, coaching leaders and employees to achieve safety goals and measurable results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years in EHS within manufacturing, including leadership responsibilities.
• Experience leading incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Knowledge of risk assessments, JHAs, and safety audits; familiar with LOTO, machine guarding, and forklifts.
• CSP/ASP/CSD certifications preferred; CSP strongly preferred.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

As the Environmental Health and Safety Manager, you will lead the site's environmental, health, and safety strategy by developing and implementing programs that promote regulatory compliance, operational excellence, employee engagement, and a proactive safety culture.

• Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive EHS programs, policies, and procedures that align with company goals and regulatory standards.
• Develop and execute emergency response plans, coordinating drills, and ensuring preparedness for potential incidents.
• Maintain a visible presence throughout the manufacturing operation, coaching leaders and employees while proactively identifying and addressing safety risks.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations and maintain audit readiness to those regulations.
• Lead regulatory inspections, audits, permitting activities, and compliance reporting requirements.
• Conduct regular inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
• Lead thorough investigations into workplace incidents and near-misses, developing strategies to prevent future occurrences.
• Provide ongoing training and communication to employees on EHS practices, emergency response, and safe procedures.
• Maintain accurate records and prepare detailed reports for internal stakeholders and regulatory agencies.
• Partner with operations, engineering, quality, and maintenance teams to incorporate EHS principles into continuous improvement initiatives and capital projects and operational objectives.
• Track, analyze, and communicate EHS performance metrics and trends, utilizing data to drive strategic improvements and reduce organizational risk.

Lead site safety committee activities and employee engagement initiatives.

• Develop annual EHS plans and objectives aligned with corporate strategy.
• Lead, coach, and develop site EHS coordinator while partnering with leaders across the facility to strengthen EHS performance, accountability, and employee engagement.
• Serve as the site's primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and corporate EHS leadership.

You bring a balance of technical expertise, leadership skills, and business acumen, enabling you to partner effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive Environmental, Health, and Safety experience within a manufacturing environment, including leadership responsibilities.
• Experience leading incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action programs.
• Demonstrated experience conducting risk assessments, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and safety audits.
• Working knowledge of industrial safety programs including lockout/tagout, machine guarding, powered industrial trucks, contractor safety, and ergonomics.
• Working knowledge of environmental compliance requirements related to hazardous waste, stormwater, and permit management within a manufacturing environment.
• Professional certifications such as CSP, ASP, CSD, or equivalent preferred. CSP strongly preferred.
