Job summary

PALFINGER is seeking a Health and Safety Manager to lead safety programs across mobile service trucks and field environments. The role focuses on training, compliance, incident investigations, and a strong safety culture to protect technicians and customers.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in health and safety, solid knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and EPA regulations, and experience with GPS fleet tracking. This is a full-time on-site position offering growth opportunities within PALFINGER.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related field.
• 5+ years in health and safety management in mobile or fleet environments.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and EPA regulations.
• Experience with safety management systems.
• Excellent communication, training, and leadership skills.
• Safety certifications (CSP/CHST/OSHA 30) are a plus.
• Experience with heavy equipment or industrial service operations.
• Familiarity with GPS fleet tracking and telematics systems.

• Develop and deliver safety training for technicians covering relevant regulations and risk controls.

As our Health and Safety Manager, you will lead the development and delivery of safety programs that protect our teams working across a large fleet of mobile service trucks in diverse field environments. From customer sites to remote locations and our own facilities, you will ensure every service professional has the training, tools, and support to work safely while delivering top-quality maintenance, repair, and support. This role can be located near Tiffin, OH, Charlotte, NC, and Birmingham, AL.

Your Responsibilities

• Oversee safety protocols for mobile service truck operations, including vehicle inspections, driving practices, roadside procedures, and field service activities.
• Develop and deliver safety training for mobile service technicians covering DOT regulations, hazard communication, lockout/tagout, and job hazard analysis.
• Lead investigations of vehicle accidents, injuries, and near-misses, document findings, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, EPA, and other applicable federal, state, and local regulations through regular audits and monitoring.
• Perform risk assessments for field operations, collaborate with fleet management on mitigation strategies, and maintain emergency response plans.
• Track and report safety KPIs, including incident trends, audit results, and training completion, providing updates and recommendations to leadership.

Your Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in health and safety management, preferably in mobile service or industrial fleet environments.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and EPA regulations.
• Experience with safety management systems and incident tracking software.
• Excellent communication, training, and leadership skills.
• Safety certification a plus (e.g., CSP, CHST, OSHA 30).
• Experience with heavy equipment or industrial service operations.
• Familiarity with GPS fleet tracking and telematics systems.
