Overview

Provide leadership, direction, and oversight of the Environmental, Health, Safety and Security (EHS&S) systems while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and risk reduction.

Responsibilities
  • Understanding and responding to internal and external customer needs and expectations.
  • Developing effective Team Member and Leader participation within the EHS&S system.
  • Identifying hazards and opportunities then assess and prioritize risk.
  • Establishing improvement plans based on risk prioritization with clear objectives and timelines.
  • Developing and improving EHS&S procedures, processes, training, risk identification and management, such as but not limited to loss control, industrial hygiene, spill prevention, environmental permitting, hazardous waste, DOT hazardous materials, emissions, emergency planning (EPCRA), and all other applicable key system elements.
  • Effectively communicating with all affected parties plans, processes, changes, etc. impacting the site’s EHS&S performance and system.
  • Accessible to the management team by phone in the event of an emergency.
  • Serving as a liaison with applicable external regulatory agencies such as OSHA, WDNR, EPA, local Fire Dept., etc., then coordinate and follow-up on EHS&S audits to ensure compliance.
  • Measuring and monitoring the EHS&S activities and processes related to planned objectives and report the results.
  • Facilitating and communicating EHS&S incident analysis events, audits and corrective actions.
  • Taking actions to continually improve performance and achieve the desired outcomes.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Knowledge/Experience/Education:

  • Detailed knowledge of OSHA, EPA, WDNR and other applicable EHS&S industry consensus standards.
  • Experience with Word, Excel and PowerPoint. CAD and SAP computer applications are a plus.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferably in an Environmental, Health, Safety and/or Security field.
  • 10-15 years of experience, preferably in a manufacturing and/or assembly location.
  • CSP, CHMM or other similar board certification a plus.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to actively listen, work with others in a team based environment, respond in a timely manner and deliver a high level of service to internal and external customers.
  • Proficient at handling confidential information.
  • Capable of effectively managing others on the EHS&S Team.
  • Organized, systematic approach to problem solving.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations (some weekends and different shifts will be required at times).

Physical Requirements:

  • Position involves sitting long periods, standing, walking several miles per day, manual dexterity, stooping, bending and lifting up to 35 lbs.
