A leading company in the chemical sector is looking for an EHS Manager to oversee their Environmental, Health, and Safety program at the Allison Park R&D Center. The role involves promoting safety culture, compliance with regulations, and continual improvement initiatives. Ideal candidates will have a relevant degree and extensive EHS experience.
As the EHS Manager, you will be responsible for managing a comprehensive Environmental, Health and Safety program for our Allison Park R&D Center. You will report to the Science & Technology EHS Leader and drive initiatives to assess and minimize workplace risks, while also providing guidance and training to ensure a consistent and unified EHS message.

Key Responsibilities
Champion efforts to foster a safety culture and employee engagement consistent with a “One PPG” EHS approach.
Ensure compliance with Federal, State, Local and PPG requirements and policies.
Drive injury prevention, spill elimination and sustainability in the areas of waste elimination, energy conservation and water consumption.
Provide incident and injury investigation, incident reporting management (GS2).
Workers’ compensation management of cases.
Evaluate the EHS Impacts of capital projects and assure EHS risk assessments are completed.
Lead site security management, provide support for fire prevention and insurance carrier risk management; Oversee site emergency response plans and teams.
Provide technical guidance on the facility-wide MOC program.
Ensure compliance with site permits and plans (Indirect Discharge, SPCC, SWPPP, Air).
Oversight of the Waste Management Program (Hazardous, Non-Hazardous, Universal).
Oversight and completion of the industrial hygiene program.
Monitor and analyze EHS performance metrics to identify trends and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, assess, and mitigate workplace hazards.
Provide oversight, audit readiness, and mentorship for compliance audits and corrective action management.
Management responsibilities for one EHS team member.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering or related Science field; Preferred CSP or CIH designation.
7 or more years of experience in the EHS field; Preferred research or chemical setting.
Solid understanding of safety and environmental regulations and consensus standards (OSHA, EPA, DOT, NIOSH, ANSI, NFPA, DHS, Workers’ Compensation), inspection procedures, audits, hazard reviews and incident investigation techniques.
Expert in change management and building a safety culture through influence and engagement.
Must possess a “hands on” attitude.
Minimal travel may be required.
