Job summary

Takeda is seeking a senior EHS professional to drive the development and implementation of the EHS Management System across corporate operations. You will oversee alignment with ISO 14001/45001, lead policy and procedure development, and coordinate cross-functional efforts with regulators and vendors.

Qualifications

  • Degree in engineering, life sciences, or similar field.
  • 10+ years’ experience in Pharmaceutical/Biopharmaceutical or similar manufacturing.
  • Minimum 5+ years corporate-level EHS Management System development and deployment experience.

Job description

About the role:

As a leading member of the Corporate EHS Team, this role drives the development and implementation of Takeda’s EHS Management System.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as subject matter expert for corporate EHS management systems; oversee alignment with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 and internal requirements.
  • Lead and coordinate development, deployment, and ongoing maintenance of corporate EHS management system documents (policies, standards, operating procedures).
  • Drive strategic management system projects and continuous improvement to evolve EHS programs.
  • Use EHS management system audits to identify gaps and inform compliance and evolution across operations.
  • Develop EHS management system capabilities supporting EHS performance and risk reduction objectives.
  • Develop and manage mechanisms for effective EHS Management System implementation, execution, and monitoring (risk-based, continuous improvement).
  • Structure and simplify EHS management systems and technical standards with clear roles and accountability.
  • Build relationships with internal teams, external stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to benchmark and elevate capability.
  • Lead continual improvement using metrics (e.g., pSIF/SIF incidents, audit nonconformances, environmental data).
  • Develop and deliver Management System training, templates, and guidance for global site compliance.
  • Monitor regulatory/technology developments and inform system design and long‑term EHS transformation roadmap.
  • Prepare annual EHS Management Reviews.
  • Lead EHS-related change management (digital/compliance transformations, best practices).
Qualifications / Requirements (Essential):
  • Degree in engineering, life sciences, or similar; 10+ years’ experience in Pharmaceutical/Biopharmaceutical or similar manufacturing.
  • Minimum 5+ years corporate-level EHS Management System development and deployment experience (or equivalent formal training).
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, regulatory agencies, and vendors.
  • Program management experience and demonstrated health/safety practices.
  • Expertise in ISO 14000/45000, EHS risk management, and development of management systems/structures/standards.
