Job summary

The Building People is seeking an experienced EHS professional to lead life safety, emergency preparedness, and regulatory compliance for our Tennessee-owned building portfolio. The role oversees OSHA standards, environmental compliance, and maintenance of critical documentation and plans.

The ideal candidate has extensive EHS experience in facilities operations, can develop and implement emergency preparedness plans, and has the ability to obtain HSPD-12 clearance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of EHS experience in facilities operations.
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and environmental compliance (RCRA/EPCRA).
• Experience developing emergency preparedness and life safety plans.
• Ability to obtain HSPD-12 clearance.

Responsibilities

• Leads life safety, emergency preparedness, and regulatory compliance across the Tennessee owned-building portfolio.
• Develops and maintains emergency preparedness and response plans for each building within 30 days of contract start.
• Oversees OSHA standards and environmental compliance across occupied spaces.
• Tracks staff certifications for personnel operating regulated systems and equipment.
• Manages environmental reporting obligations and related recordkeeping (RCRA/EPCRA; UST/AST).
• Supports audits, inspections, and data calls tied to GSA risk management and OIG reviews.
• Maintains Safety Data Sheets and fuel storage compliance documentation.
