Job summary

Trystar is seeking a Health, Safety & Environmental Specialist to lead site EHS programs at our Faribault, MN headquarters. The role reports to the HSE Director and drives safety, health, and environmental initiatives across operations, quality, and engineering.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least 3 years of health and safety experience, with strong communication skills and travel readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Health, Safety, Environmental, or related field.
• Three years of progressive work experience in health and safety.
• Strong ability to communicate in written and oral formats with diplomacy and tact.
• Competent in using Microsoft Office products, email systems, and Windows.
• Ability to travel up to 50% to visit other sites and support safety audits.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate EHS program objectives and provide clear direction to the site.
• Train and coach operations staff on accident prevention and safety practices.
• Provide expertise on safety risk identification, assessment, and management.
• Be the site EHS expert and point of contact for safety and environmental inquiries.
• Ensure site compliance with safety, health, waste management, water discharge, and air observation.
• Monitor regulatory requirements and inform leadership of potential impacts.
• Develop and deliver health and safety training content and sessions.
• Lead plant and support personnel in HSE goal development and execution.
• Provide leadership to emergency response teams and safety committees.
• Collaborate with HR on orientation and workers' compensation processes.
• Participate in incident investigations and root cause analyses.
• Assist in process hazard studies and capital project safety input.
