Job summary

YKK AP America Inc. is seeking a Safety and Environmental Program Manager to plan, direct, and implement safety and environmental programs ensuring a compliant, healthy, and accident-free workplace.

The role involves developing policies, training, and procedures to meet federal, state, and local requirements. You will oversee air emissions, stormwater, hazardous waste, and chemical management, report performance to Japan, and participate in the Environmental Compliance Committee.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workplace Applications.
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience required.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements policies, programs, training, procedures, and work instructions for safety, environmental compliance, and ISO 14001 standards.
• Oversee regulatory compliance for air emissions, stormwater, hazardous waste, and chemical management in accordance with local/state/federal laws.
• Report plant safety and environmental performance to YKK AP Japan; participate in Environmental Compliance Committee.
• Represent division in community or industry safety groups and during regulatory inspections.
• Train managers and employees in workplace safety practices, fire prevention, hazardous materials handling, and environmental policy compliance.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in manufacturing safety culture through employee engagement and hazard identification.
