GE Aerospace in Evendale, OH is seeking an Infrastructure EHS Leader to provide operational EHS support to the Facilities and Utilities teams. You will drive programs to meet federal, state, and local EHS regulatory requirements and GE management system standards.

As a change agent you will coach teams, lead risk assessments, support audits and incident investigations, and shape a culture where EHS is prioritized across 6000+ campus employees.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; 4+ years EHS experience if using a high school diploma.
  • Minimum 3 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment.

Responsibilities

  • Work with operations to identify/address EHS issues related to site operations, equipment and design.
  • Participate in audits, observations, and risk assessments across labs to assess compliance and program effectiveness.
  • Coach teams to closure of improvement opportunities identified through assessments.
  • Empower represented employees to own elements of EHS programs and promote a culture where EHS is a priority.
  • Develop area risk assessments (Safety RAs, JSAs, etc.) and ensure proper documentation.
  • Assist with accident investigations, identify root causes, and implement countermeasures.
  • Coordinate Management of Change (MOC) and equipment readiness processes for activities.
  • Review and maintain EHS training matrices and provide guidance on new processes.

Job Description Summary:

As the Infrastructure EHS Leader at our Evendale, OH facility, you will provide operational EHS support to the Evendale Facilities and Utilities team. You will work closely with operations to drive implementation of programs to ensure all federal, state, and local EHS regulatory and GE management system requirements are met. The Evendale Infrastructure organization is responsible for operating, and maintaining, the entire Evendale campus and is made up of over 200 hourly employees and 100 salaried employees. The successful candidate must be a proven leader, facilitator, and coach to promote EHS culture and ensure compliance to EHS regulatory requirements with a continuous improvement mindset. This position will act as a part of the broader Evendale EHS organization, which supports 6000+ campus wide employees, and is a VPP certified as well as Title VEPA site.


Roles and Responsibilities:


  • Work closely with the operations team to identify and address EHS issues related to site operations, equipment and site design, installation, and commissioning, including providing and presenting EHS KPIs

  • Participate in audits, conduct worker observations, and complete risk assessments across the labs to assess compliance and effectiveness of campus EHS programs

  • Coach to closure any improvement opportunities identified through such assessments

  • Empower represented employees to own elements of sites EHS programs, establishing a culture where EHS is a priority for all

  • Own development of area risk assessment (Safety RAs, JSAs, etc.)

  • Assist with accident and event investigations, determine proper root cause, and implement effective countermeasure to prevent future incidents

  • Coordinate Management of Change (MOC) & equipment readiness (Orange Tag Process) for activities within their supported groups

  • Review and maintain EHS training matrix for supported employees. Ensure relevant EHS training is available as new processes, equipment, and requirements are developed

  • Assist with EHS program implementation, identify gaps, and provide guidance on improvement opportunities

  • Work with employees and achieve cultural change in a union environment


Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years EHS experience)

  • At least an additional 3 years of experience in EHS with a focus in a manufacturing/industrial environment
