Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a motivated student in Wisconsin for an Environmental Health and Safety internship within a food manufacturing environment. You will support safety analyses and risk assessments, document findings in Velocity EHS, and help drive corrective actions across the plant.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, gain exposure to regulatory compliance, and participate in intern networking and learning activities.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health, Safety, Engineering or related field
• Junior or senior status preferred
• Minimum 3.5 GPA strongly preferred
• Prior work experience preferred
• Excellent computer skills, including Excel proficiency
• Ability to prioritize competing priorities and deadlines
• Desire to learn, grow and contribute in a team-based environment
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Less than 10% travel, including some travel to remote facilities
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship now or in the future

Responsibilities

• Drive a safety culture of ownership and develop safety solutions for plant operations teams
• Gain EHS experience and support compliance at a food manufacturing site in an industrial setting
• Perform project work across the business, including Job Safety Analysis, risk assessments, and hazard recognition activities
• Capture findings and document data in the Velocity EHS software tool
• Help drive corrective and preventive action solutions to mitigate risks and hazards
• Assist with regulatory compliance activities on operations floors
• Work with multifunctional teams to validate assessments
• Participate in job shadowing across other areas of interest
• Report to the Safety Coordinator for scheduling and project direction
• Participate in organized intern networking and learning activities
