Job summary

Johnsonville Sausage, LLC invites you to join its Environmental Health and Safety team as an intern or co-op in Wisconsin. You will participate in a program that offers an overview of the EHS function through project work across several areas, with opportunities to shadow colleagues from other functions.

You will engage in activities that build safety culture, regulatory compliance, and data capture using Velocity EHS, while collaborating with cross‑functional teams from multiple departments.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health, Safety, Engineering, or related field.
• Junior or senior status preferred.
• Minimum 3.5 GPA strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive safety culture of ownership and develop safety solutions for plant operations.
• EHS experience and compliance at a food manufacturing site while gaining industrial EHS exposure.
• Perform project work across the business, including Job Safety Analysis, Risk Assessments, and hazard recognition.
• Capture findings and document data into Velocity EHS software.
• Contribute to corrective and preventive actions to mitigate risks and hazards.
• Assist with regulatory compliance on the operations floors while collaborating with multi-function teams.
• Intern reports to the Safety Coordinator for schedule and project direction.
