Johnsonville Sausage, LLC is offering an Environmental Health and Safety Internship for Summer 2027 at our Global Headquarters. The program provides hands-on experience across multiple EHS functions, with opportunities to job shadow and engage in team-based projects.

You will gain exposure to regulatory compliance, safety analysis, and data documentation using Velocity EHS, while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health, Safety, Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3.5 GPA strongly preferred.
• Prior work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive safety culture and develop safety solutions for plant operations.
• EHS experience and compliance at a food manufacturing site.
• Perform project work including Job Safety Analysis, Risk Assessments, and hazard recognition.
• Capture findings and document data into Velocity EHS software.
• Contribute to corrective and preventive actions to mitigate risks.
• Assist with regulatory compliance on the operations floors and collaborate with multi‑function teams.
• Report to the Safety Coordinator to ensure timely project completion.

Environmental Health and Safety Internship - Summer 2027 (Finance)

Johnsonville Location: Global Headquarters

Position Overview

Join the Johnsonville Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Team for a summer you\'ll never forget! We know that your internship experience will provide you with valuable knowledge and experience.

The successful candidate will take part in a program designed to provide an overview of the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) function through a combination of project work in multiple functional areas, along with the ability to job shadow in other areas of interest.

You will also participate with Interns from across the company in organized activities which provide networking and learning opportunities.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience through the following duties:

• Drive Safety culture of ownership and develop safety solutions to plant operations team
• EHS experience and compliance at a food manufacturing site, while gaining EHS experience in an industrial setting
• Performing project work across entire business which could include, Job Safety Analysis, Risk Assessments, and Hazard recognition activities
• Capturing findings and document data into Velocity EHS software tool
• Help drive solutions to Corrective actions and preventive actions to mitigate risks and hazards.
• Assist with regulatory compliance by completing on the operations floors and provide real work experience working with multi‑function teams to validate assessments
• The intern will report to the Safety coordinator to provide schedule and direction for successful project completion.

Education

• Candidate must currently be working towards a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health, Safety, Engineering or a related field from an accredited university; junior or senior status preferred.
• 3.5 minimum GPA strongly preferred.

• Prior work experience preferred

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Travel: Less than 10% (some travel to remote facilities)
