Job summary

First Quality Retail Services, LLC in Lewistown, PA is seeking college students for its 2027 Internship Programs. These full-time, paid positions provide real projects with real results and hands-on experience in environmental health and safety.

You will support the operation and compliance of the EHS program, help implement safety policies, training records, and incident tracking, while working alongside a team of professionals.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing safety policies and procedures.
• Support OSHA-related compliance and training records.
• Participate in new hire safety orientation and site inspections.
• Assist in incident investigation, reporting, and corrective actions.
• Maintain documentation, logs, and workers’ compensation data.
• Support communications about safety policies to visitors and vendors.

First Quality Retail Services, LLC in Lewistown, PA is seeking talented, team-oriented, college students for its 2027 Internship Programs . We have one goal: providing you with real life, hands-on experience! These positions are full-time, paid positions where you will work on real projects with real results!

Purpose and role of job:

Provide technical skills in the operation and support of the environmental health and safety program to maintain an accident-free work environment and ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.

Principal Accountabilities/ Responsibilities:

• Plans and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with FQ local, State and Federal OSHA rules and regulations
• Aspires to achieve a zero injury culture through visible support of the injury prevention and safety program
• Ensure required safety training is complete for all team members and training records are maintained.
• Participate in the new hire safety orientation process
• Assist organization in controlling hazardous working conditions and unsafe activities
• Conduct regular walk through safety inspections to identify hazards, document findings, recommend corrective actions and follow through to ensure corrections have been made
• Assist in establishing policies for preventive actions through studying incidents and potential risks in general work environments
• Ensure incident investigation, mitigation and reporting process is followed
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with all team members, vendors and customers
• Facilitate communication of company safety policies, procedures and standards with all visitors, including contractors and vendors
• Complete administrative responsibilities and documentation, including training records, accident/incident reporting, OSHA log updates, employee files and workers compensation claim filing
• Assist in overall workers compensation administration and coordination of the Return-to-Work program for injured team members
• Perform other duties as assigned

Education and experience requirements:

• Bachelor's degree (or demonstrated progress toward a degree) in related field of study
• Minimum 3.0 GPA
• 0-3 years of experience, including academic projects
• Highly motivated, strong team player, with good ability to multi-task and re-prioritize as necessary
• Strong problem solving skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Standard knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office programs.
• Excellent verbal and written skills
• Authorization to work in the U.S.

Work Environment:

• In wet, hot and cold environments inside and outside of the facility
• In ear, eye and foot protection areas
• Under pressure of deadlines and manage moderate levels of stress

Physical Requirements:

• Lift up to 25 pounds
• Walk long distances

• Bend, stoop, stretch
• Stand for long periods of time
• Type and read small print on screen and blueprints/schematics
• Ability to travel as needed to other sites via commercial airline or vehicle
