Responsibilities

  • Implement and enforce site-specific safety programs to ensure OSHA compliance.
  • Conduct daily inspections of workspaces, machinery, and equipment for safe conditions.
  • Observe field crews to ensure proper use of PPE and safety protocols.
  • Audit high-risk tasks requiring permits, including Working at Heights and LOTO.
  • Foster a proactive safety culture through workforce engagement and integration into daily ops.

The EHS Inspector will collaborate closely with managers, supervisors, and workers to mitigate risks and maintain a culture of safety.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The EHS Inspector is responsible for promoting and ensuring a safe working environment. This role involves implementing safety programs, conducting regular site inspections, training workers on safety procedures, and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations. The EHS Inspector will collaborate closely with managers, supervisors, and workers to mitigate risks and maintain a culture of safety.

Job responsibilities:
  • Implement and enforce site-specific safety programs to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company standards.
  • Conduct daily physical inspections of workspaces, machinery, and equipment to verify safe operating conditions.
  • Observe field crews and floor personnel to ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Audit high-risk tasks requiring specialized permits, including Working at Heights, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
  • Promote a proactive safety culture through workforce engagement, collaboration, and integration of safety into daily operations.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree or technical certificate in Occupational Safety or a related field is highly preferred.
  • Relevant experience may substitute for formal education
  • Minimum of [1-3] years of hands-on experience performing safety inspections or field supervision within [Construction / Manufacturing / Energy / Government Regulations].
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/SPECIAL SKILLS:
  • Experience in industrial manufacturing or construction environments.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations for manufacturing and construction activities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and engage workers at all levels.
  • Attention to detail and ability to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team-oriented with proactive safety mindset
  • OSHA 10 Hr. or OSHA 30 Hr. - Manufacturing or Construction (preferred)
  • First Aid / CPR / AED /BBP (preferred)
