Job summary

Precision Castparts Corp. is seeking a Facilities & Security Lead for the Houston campus to manage day-to-day facility services, AFCO activities, and physical security.

You’ll coordinate work orders, vendor services, access control, and security systems while collaborating with EHS, IT, HR, and operations to sustain safe, reliable manufacturing operations. The role requires 5+ years in facilities/industrial services, with strong knowledge of building systems, security, and contractor management.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily facility operations across campus buildings and grounds.
  • Administer the facility work-order process from intake to completion.
  • Lead AFCO activities, including scheduling and invoicing of services.
  • Oversee contracted security operations, post coverage, visitor controls, and incident handling.
  • Coordinate badge access, keys, locks, cameras, and other security systems with stakeholders.
  • Manage janitorial, landscaping, waste, moves, furniture, signage and minor repairs.
  • Conduct routine facility and security inspections and ensure corrective actions.
  • Coordinate vendors: quotations, purchase requests, scheduling, safety, permits, and QA.
  • Support facility projects with scope, scheduling, budgeting and turnover docs.
  • Maintain records, service agreements, inspection reports, drawings and logs.
  • Support emergency, weather, outages and business-continuity efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, codes, and EHS expectations.
  • Provide updates to Director of EHS on orders, projects and costs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Facilities & Security Lead coordinate’s the day-to-day administration and execution of facility services, AFCO activities, and physical security for the Houston campus. The position serves as the primary point of contact for facility work requests, building and grounds issues, contracted services, site access, security systems, and assigned improvement projects. This role works under the direction of the Director of EHS and partners with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, IT, Purchasing, Human Resources, and external service providers to maintain safe, secure, reliable, and professional facilities that support continuous manufacturing operations.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Coordinate daily facility operations across campus buildings, offices, common areas, grounds, parking areas, and non-production infrastructure.
  • Administer the facility work-order process, including intake, prioritization, assignment, status tracking, escalation, verification of completion, and communication with requestors.
  • Serve as the site lead for AFCO activities; coordinating scope, schedule, access, documentation, invoicing, and performance of assigned AFCO personnel and services.
  • Oversee contracted security operations, post coverage, guard performance, visitor controls, gate operations, patrol expectations, incident reporting, and escalation protocols.
  • Coordinate badge access, keys, locks, doors, gates, cameras, alarms, and other physical-security systems with EHS, HR, IT, and approved vendors.
  • Coordinate janitorial, landscaping, pest control, waste, vending, office moves, furniture, signage, minor building repairs, and other assigned facility services.
  • Conduct routine facility and security inspections; document deficiencies and ensure corrective actions are assigned and completed.
  • Coordinate vendors and contractors, including quotations, purchase requests, scheduling, site access, safety orientation, work permits, and quality verification.
  • Support facility projects and capital improvements by assisting with scope development, contractor coordination, schedule tracking, budget monitoring, and turnover documentation.
  • Maintain facility, AFCO, and security records, service agreements, inspection reports, drawings, inventories, logs, and performance metrics.
  • Support emergency response, severe-weather preparation, utility interruptions, security incidents, and business-continuity activities.
  • Ensure facility and security activities comply with company policies, contractor-safety requirements, applicable codes, and EHS expectations.
  • Provide routine updates to the Director of EHS regarding open work orders, project status, contractor performance, security concerns, costs, and emerging risks.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
  • Working knowledge of commercial or industrial building systems, facility services, work-order management, and contractor coordination.
  • Knowledge of physical-security practices, access-control systems, visitor management, CCTV, key control, and incident escalation.
  • Ability to assess priorities, coordinate multiple requests, and follow issues through completion in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication, customer-service, organization, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read basic scopes of work, quotations, invoices, drawings, and service agreements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Teams, electronic work-order systems, and basic reporting tools.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and coordinate across departments and shifts.
  • Basic knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, life-safety, contractor-safety, and building-code requirements preferred.
EDUCATION

High school diploma or GED required. Associate or bachelor’s degree in facilities management, business, construction, security, engineering technology, or a related field preferred.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in facilities, industrial services, construction coordination, maintenance planning, security operations, or a related field. Manufacturing experience and prior oversight of contractors or security providers preferred.

WORK CONDITIONS

Combination of office and industrial-manufacturing environments. Regular walking throughout a large campus; exposure to noise, heat, weather, dust, vehicles, and active production areas. Must be able to wear required PPE and occasionally lift up to 35 pounds.

TRAVEL

Limited; generally less than 10%.

HOURS

1st shift; additional hours, weekends, or call-in support may be required for emergencies, outages, projects, or security events.

NOTES

Reports directly to the Director of Environmental, Health & Safety. This position provides functional coordination and oversight of AFCO and contracted security services but does not independently alter contract terms or company policy without approval. The position is expected to maintain responsive service, accurate records, and clear accountability for facility and security actions.

This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)).
