Job summary

RIE Coatings, Inc. is seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Engineer to lead environmental compliance and workplace safety initiatives across our manufacturing facilities in 3 states.

This on-site role requires traveling between Albuquerque, NM; Dubuque, IA; and Eden Valley, MN to support operations. You will lead programs across locations, ensuring OSHA/EPA compliance, managing permits and reporting, and driving safety improvements.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Safety Eng, Chemical Eng, Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Eng or related field.
3–5 years of EHS experience in manufacturing/industrial environments.
Strong knowledge of OSHA and environmental regulations including RCRA, CAA, CWA, EPCRA, and SPCC.
Experience with environmental permitting, regulatory reporting, hazardous waste management, and incident investigations.
Knowledge of wastewater treatment systems and environmental compliance preferred.
Experience in metal finishing, plating, coating, anodizing, or other chemical manufacturing processes is a plus.
OSHA 30 certification (or ability to obtain) required; HAZWOPER 40, CHMM, REM, CSP, or ISO 14001 experience a plus.
Ability to travel to other locations approx. 25–35%.

Responsibilities

Lead EHS programs across multiple manufacturing locations.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and local regulations.
Manage environmental permits, reporting, and regulatory inspections.
Oversee hazardous waste, wastewater, air emissions, and chemical management programs.
Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, incident investigations, and root cause analyses.
Develop and deliver EHS training for employees.
Partner with operations and engineering teams to improve safety, environmental performance, and compliance.
Track EHS metrics and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
