Job summary

Lamsco West, Inc. is seeking a Safety and Workers’ Compensation Programs Manager to implement and oversee OSHA/Cal/OSHA compliance, safety training, and injury prevention across facilities in California.

The role includes hazard assessments, policy development, recordkeeping, PPE management, workers’ comp coordination, drills, safety committee leadership, and new-hire safety orientation, with a focus on regulatory adherence and continuous safety improvement.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes work environments and designs programs to control, eliminate and prevent disease and injury (via safety inspections and hazard assessments).
• Develops safety policies, training programs and materials, tracks training requirements and certifications.
• Prepares and maintains safety records including training, accident and near-miss investigations, OSHA logs, permits, checklists, audits and walk-through reports; liaises with government agencies.
• Coordinates medical management of Workers' Compensation cases; coordinates return-to-work documentation and modified duty strategies.
• Manages distribution of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Conducts periodic fire and emergency evacuation drills.
• Chairs the Safety Committee and conducts monthly meetings.
• Conducts new-hire employee safety orientation.
• Additional duties, as assigned.

Job description

To implementation and management of the Company’s safety and workers compensation programs to ensure compliance with OSHA, Cal/OSHA and all applicable local, state and federal regulatory requirements.

• Prepares and maintains all safety records including training, accident and near-miss investigations, OSHA logs, permits, checklists, safety audits and walk-through reports and other documentation and acts as liaison with government agencies.
• Responsible for coordinating the medical management of Workers Compensation cases, acquiring return-to-work documentation and coordinating modified duty strategies.
• Manages distribution of personal protective equipment (PPE)

• Chairs the Safety Committee and conducts monthly meetings.

• Additional tasks, duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
