Actalent is seeking an EHS Engineer to develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive environmental, health, and safety programs across multiple manufacturing facilities. You will drive a proactive safety culture, integrate EHS into daily operations, and coordinate with operations and leadership to reduce risk and improve environmental performance.

The role requires 2+ years in an EHS role, strong OSHA knowledge, and hands-on hazardous waste management experience.

Qualificações

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in an EHS or HSE role.
  • Experience performing EHS tasks in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with hazardous waste management, including storage, labeling, handling, and disposal.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Experience conducting safety inspections, audits, and facility walk-throughs and driving corrective actions.
  • Proven ability to lead incident investigations and perform root cause analyses.
  • Experience planning and delivering safety training, orientations, and employee awareness programs.
  • Ability to coordinate emergency response planning, drills, and first aid/CPR preparedness programs.
  • Strong collaboration skills with operations, quality, and leadership teams in a manufacturing setting.

Responsabilidades

  • Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and internal standards.
  • Lead safety and environmental improvement initiatives that promote a proactive safety culture across the organization.
  • Plan, coordinate, and deliver new hire orientations, recurring safety training, and ongoing employee awareness programs.
  • Ensure compliance with hazardous waste management requirements, including proper storage, labeling, handling, and disposal.
  • Maintain OSHA logs, injury and incident reports, audit records, Safety Data Sheet (SDS) documentation, and other required EHS records.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and update EHS policies, procedures, and training materials as regulations and standards evolve.
  • Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, and facility walk-throughs to identify hazards, unsafe conditions, and at-risk behaviors, and drive timely corrective actions.
  • Partner with management and employees to reinforce safe work practices, address workplace safety concerns, and encourage shared ownership of EHS performance.
  • Lead incident investigations, perform root cause analyses, and implement corrective and preventive actions to reduce recurrence and improve safety outcomes.
  • Coordinate emergency response planning, including drills, evacuation procedures, and first aid/CPR preparedness programs.
  • Facilitate Health & Safety Committee meetings and communicate EHS performance metrics, initiatives, and recommendations to leadership.
  • Recognize, encourage, and promote employee participation in workplace safety programs and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Develop and maintain Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and other safety-related documentation to support safe operations.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Quality teams to ensure EHS requirements are effectively integrated into daily manufacturing activities and processes.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and resource for environmental, health, and safety matters across multiple facility locations, providing guidance and support as needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience supporting multiple facility locations and acting as an EHS subject matter expert across sites.
  • Background in EHS management within a manufacturing environment, particularly in industries focused on consumer products or similar sectors.
  • Ability to foster and sustain a strong safety culture and encourage employee engagement in safety initiatives.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced production environment with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong organizational skills for maintaining OSHA logs, SDS documentation, and other EHS records.
  • Interest in continuous improvement and implementing best practices in environmental, health, and safety programs.
Work Environment

This role operates within a manufacturing environment that supports large-scale production for leading beauty and cosmetics brands. The EHS Engineer works closely with operations, quality, and leadership teams on the production floor and in office settings to ensure EHS requirements are integrated into daily activities. The position involves regular facility walk-throughs, safety inspections, and audits, as well as participation in emergency drills and safety committee meetings across multiple locations. The work environment emphasizes a proactive safety culture, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous improvement in environmental, health, and safety performance.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Congers, NY.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $75000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
