Job summary

Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) seeks an experienced Director of Environmental Health and Safety to provide agency-wide leadership across safety, occupational health, emergency medical support, and environmental compliance. The role oversees staff, budgets, and strategic direction, advising leadership on risks and coordinating with TAMUS and external partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in applicable field from an accredited college or university, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ten years of related Environmental Health and Safety experience to include two years of supervisory experience.
• Must have a valid motor vehicle operator’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
• Equivalency: Will consider twelve years of related experience with an Associate's Degree + two years of supervisory experience, or fourteen years with a High School Diploma/GED and supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Agency EHS Leadership & Management: Provides leadership and strategic direction for the TEEX Environmental Health and Safety Department.
• Safety & Emergency Medical Program Management: Oversees safety and emergency medical programs and readiness.
• Agency Environmental Management: Directs environmental compliance programs and supervises the environmental program manager.
• Emergency Management Coordination & Business Continuity: Leads development and maintenance of TEEX Emergency Management and Business Continuity Program.
• Culture of Health & Safety: Develops and sustains a culture of safety across TEEX.
