Job summary

The Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) seeks a Director of Environmental Health and Safety to provide agency-wide leadership for safety, occupational health, emergency medical support, environmental compliance, emergency management, and business continuity.

You will lead managers and staff, set goals, manage resources and budgets, and advise agency leadership on risks while coordinating with Texas A&M System offices and regulatory agencies to protect people and operations.

Qualifications

• Ten years of related Environmental Health and Safety experience, including two years of supervisory experience.
• Must have a valid motor vehicle operator's license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
• Equivalency options: 12 years with an Associate's Degree or 14 years with a High School Diploma/GED, including two years of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide agency-wide leadership and strategic direction for safety, occupational health, emergency medical support, environmental compliance, emergency management, and business continuity.
• Lead and develop managers and professional staff; set departmental goals and performance expectations; manage resources and budgets.
• Advise agency leadership on significant risks and represent TEEX with regulatory agencies and external partners.
