Job summary

Novelis is seeking an EHS Coordinator at the Ashville plant to support environmental, health, and safety programs. You will conduct investigations, report concerns, and recommend corrective actions while working with plant leadership and regulatory agencies to ensure safe and compliant operations.

The role requires a degree in engineering, safety, or environmental science, or an associate degree with EHS experience, plus strong communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, occupational safety, environmental science, or a related field, or an associate degree with relevant EHS experience.
• Pursue applicable health, safety, or environmental certifications if not currently certified.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to work effectively in a team.
• Ability to organize tasks and develop action plans.

Responsibilities

• Compile environmental, health, and safety reports for regulatory submission.
• Maintain environmental permits and operating records.
• Develop and deliver EHS training per regulatory and policy requirements.
• Monitor regulatory initiatives and communicate updates to management.
• Audit and maintain systems to support environmental programs and compliance.
• Identify opportunities to improve environmental compliance and data collection.
• Build relationships with environmental authorities and respond to inspections.
• Conduct safety observations and recommend follow-up actions.
• Assist with wastewater reporting and OSHA/EOHS responsibilities.
• Collaborate with plant leadership to foster a safety-first culture.
