Job summary

Sigma Earth is looking for an EHS Coordinator to lead safety initiatives and promote an excellent culture of operational safety. Responsibilities include overseeing compliance with regulatory and internal standards while designing and implementing effective EHS programs.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health and Safety or a related field, along with 1–5 years of relevant experience. A certification in First Aid and CPR is essential.

Job description

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the site’s Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Committee, overseeing initiatives, activities, and projects that promote a strong culture of safety and operational excellence.
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve EHS programs and best practices to ensure compliance with both regulatory requirements and internal company standards, while supporting audits and inspections.
  • Ensure adherence to OSHA 1910 requirements, including programs related to personal protective equipment (PPE), hazard communication (HAZCOM), fall protection, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and other workplace safety measures.
  • Develop and deliver training programs and learning plans that support departmental goals and individual employee development objectives.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within internal and external EHS management systems, including incident reporting platforms, safety data sheet databases, and compliance tracking tools.
  • Assess and respond to workplace injuries and illnesses, providing first aid treatment in accordance with OSHA guidelines.
  • Conduct First Aid, CPR, AED, and Bloodborne Pathogen (BBP) training for onsite emergency response personnel and first responder teams.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related discipline; relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • 1–5 years of experience in an EHS Coordinator or comparable health and safety role, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
  • Certified trainer in First Aid, CPR, AED, and Bloodborne Pathogen (BBP) programs.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 management systems, as well as OSHA, EPA, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Authorization to work permanently in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a unionized manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Background in emergency medical services (EMS), including EMT-Basic (EMT-B) or EMT-Paramedic (EMT-P) certification or experience.
  • Hands‑on experience providing first aid and emergency response services within industrial or manufacturing facilities.
  • Familiarity with OSHA first aid requirements, workplace injury assessment, and incident triage procedures.
