Job summary

Nucor Skyline Longview, WA is seeking an EHS Coordinator to drive safety, environmental, and quality objectives across the division. You will support teams to improve safety culture and ensure compliance with regulations while helping control costs and productivity.

The role requires prior EHS experience, with preferred background in steel manufacturing and OSHA training qualifications. Equal opportunity employer with strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in EHS is required.
• Experience with Safety and Environmental Management Systems in manufacturing is preferred.
• OSHA 30-hour training and ability to conduct OSHA trainings are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement loss prevention, safety, health, environmental, security and fire control efforts for all teammates and facilities.
• Analyze compliance with state and federal safety and environmental regulations and prepare permitting and reporting (air, water, waste).
• Develop safe job analyses and procedures and deliver training; audit safety and environmental programs; lead safety focus teams.

Basic Job Functions:

The Nucor Skyline Longview, WA EHS Coordinator responsibilities include, but are not limited to, taking care of our customers by executing the division’s safety, environmental, quality, cost, productivity, and profitability objectives. The EHS Coordinator will be responsible for providing effective professional environmental, health, and safety support to all Nucor Skyline Longview teammates to improve and sustain a culture that values safety above all else. The successful candidate will assist in the implementation of loss prevention, safety, health, environmental, security and fire control efforts for all teammates and facilities. Responsibilities also include: working with state and federal safety and environmental regulations, analyzing compliance, environmental permitting and reporting for air, water, and waste, implementing best practices, implementing effective communication systems for environmental, safety and health issues, maintaining the safety and environmental management systems, assisting with the development of safe job analysis and safe job procedures, identifying training needs and delivering training, auditing safety and environmental efforts, participating in and/or leading safety focus teams, and coordinating industrial hygiene monitoring. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

Prior experience in EHS necessary

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with Safety and Environmental Management Systems and standards in the steel manufacturing environment

Min 2 yr. experience working with Safety & Environmental Management Systems and standards in manufacturing environment or related experience

Experience with air, water, and waste permitting, compliance, and reporting

Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental, or related field

OSHA 30-hour training

Certified to conduct OSHA trainings
