Nucor Skyline Longview in Longview, WA, seeks an EHS Coordinator to drive safety, environmental, quality, cost, productivity and profitability objectives for the division. You will support teammates to improve safety culture and compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities include loss prevention, safety, health, environmental, security and fire control efforts; developing safe job analyses, training, audits, and coordinating industrial hygiene monitoring across facilities.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in EHS is required.
• Bachelor-level degree or higher in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental, or related field is preferred.
• OSHA 30-hour training and ability to conduct OSHA trainings are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Working with state and federal safety and environmental regulations.
• Analyzing compliance, environmental permitting and reporting for air, water, and waste.
• Implementing best practices for safety, health and environment.
• Implementing effective communication systems for environmental, safety and health issues.
• Maintaining the safety and environmental management systems.
• Assisting with the development of safe job analyses and safe job procedures.
• Identifying training needs and delivering training.
• Auditing safety and environmental efforts.
• Participating in and/or leading safety focus teams.
• Coordinating industrial hygiene monitoring.

Basic Job Functions

The Nucor Skyline Longview, WA EHS Coordinator responsibilities include, but are not limited to, taking care of our customers by executing the division's safety, environmental, quality, cost, productivity, and profitability objectives. The EHS Coordinator will be responsible for providing effective professional environmental, health, and safety support to all Nucor Skyline Longview teammates to improve and sustain a culture that values safety above all else. The successful candidate will assist in the implementation of loss prevention, safety, health, environmental, security and fire control efforts for all teammates and facilities.

Minimum Qualifications

• Prior experience in EHS necessary

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with Safety and Environmental Management Systems and standards in the steel manufacturing environment
• Min 2 yr. experience working with Safety & Environmental Management Systems and standards in manufacturing environment or related experience
• Experience with air, water, and waste permitting, compliance, and reporting
• Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental, or related field
• OSHA 30-hour training
• Certified to conduct OSHA trainings
• OSHA 30-hour training
