Job summary

Blue Chip Talent is seeking a hands-on EHS professional to provide day-to-day safety oversight for active construction and equipment installation projects in Columbia, SC.

You will spend the majority of time in the field, conduct site inspections, review JHAs and permits, lead new-hire safety orientations, investigate incidents, and participate in safety meetings to drive corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor's degree in Safety, Occupational Safety, EHS, or related field with 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Hands-on safety experience in active construction environments.
• Working knowledge of OSHA construction safety regulations and requirements.
• Experience conducting site inspections, incident investigations, and safety documentation reviews.
• Experience reviewing JHAs, permits, and construction safety documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day EHS oversight for active construction and equipment installations.
• Spend 70-80% of time in the field monitoring contractor activities and jobsite conditions.
• Conduct daily site inspections and maintain required safety documentation.
• Lead new-hire safety orientations for personnel entering the jobsite.
• Investigate safety incidents and complete required incident reporting and documentation.
• Attend construction, coordination, pre-construction, and safety meetings.
• Identify and escalate safety concerns and support corrective-action activities.

• Spend approximately 70-80% of working time in the field monitoring contractor activities and jobsite conditions
• Conduct daily site inspections and maintain required safety documentation
• Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), permits, and other construction safety documentation
• Lead new-hire safety orientations for personnel entering the jobsite
• Investigate safety incidents and complete required incident reporting and documentation
• Attend construction, coordination, pre-construction, and safety meetings
• Identify and escal safety concerns and support incident learning and corrective-action activities

Need to have:

• OSHA 30 certification
• First Aid, CPR, and AED certification or ability to obtain as required
• Bachelor's degree in Safety, Occupational Safety, EHS, or a related discipline with 3+ years of relevant experience, or 5+ years of construction safety experience
• Hands-on safety experience within active construction environments
• Working knowledge of OSHA construction safety regulations and requirements
• Experience conducting jobsite inspections, incident investigations, and safety documentation reviews
• Experience reviewing JHAs, permits, and construction safety documentation
